 Adar Gandelsman (Hebrew: Adr gndlsmn; born 5 December 1997) is an Israeli model and beauty pageant winner. She was the first runner-up of Miss Israel 2017, receiving the title of Miss Universe Israel, and competed at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant. Adar took part in the Miss Universe 2017 pageant in Las Vegas, but did not finish in the top tier. The pageant was a success, and Gandelsman snapped a photo with Sarah Idan, Miss Universe Iraq in the year. In December 2017, Idan as well as her family emigrated to Iraq because of the outrage of Iraqi citizens for her taking a picture to take a photo with Miss Israel who had also served in the Israel Defense Forces at the time, Gandelsman was born in Ashkelon, Israel, and is the daughter of Ashkenazi Jewish parents who immigrated to Israel from Brazil in 1992. Her initial name, Adar, is a Hebrew calendar month.
